1st in a serise - A tour of Italy: Northwest

We kick off our tour of Italy with an exploration of the wines of the northwest from regions such as Piedmont and Lombardy. These regions are home to some classic grape varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbera and Cortese. The wines will range from delightful fresh whites to profound aged reds and show case some of the best wines from the region.

A tour of italy: Northeast

The second of our Italian tasting seeks out the expressive wines of regions such as Veneto, Friuli, Alto Adige and Trentino. Whilst the regions are probably best known for high volume production a great deal of premium, expressive wines are created here. So, we will focus on discovering the higher quality wines and find out what makes them so great.

  A tour of Italy: West Central 

thursday 7th May 19:00-21:00

This evening we’ll be mainly exploring the wonderful wines of Tuscany but will not forget to taste the wines from the region’s neighbours, Umbria and Lazio. So, we’ll start with some refreshing whites from Frascati and Umbria before ‘studying’ Sangiovese based classics such as Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino and well wines in the Super Tuscan style. Please note this tasting will cover some ultra-premium wines and therefore the price for the event is £ 50.00 per person.

Fizz Face Off: England vs the world

Pop, pour, and compare in this sparkling showdown! We’ll taste a selection of English sparkling wines alongside some of the world’s most celebrated fizz, exploring differences in style, texture, and flavour. Fun, interactive, and a little competitive, this tasting is a sparkling celebration of bubbles to show how our home grown bubbles stand up to the rest of the world.

A splendid evening to discover the wines of the relatively lesser known wine regions of the Italian, the Adriatic. We will taste wines from Emilia Romagna, the Marche and Abruzzo. So, expect Verdicchios, Montepulcianos alongside some unique offerings delivering quality, expression and oenological surprises.

Treat your senses to a vibrant exploration of aromatic wines. This tasting highlights grapes renowned for their fragrance—think lively Bacchus, expressive Riesling, and aromatic Sauvignon Blanc—showcasing both English examples and carefully selected international stars. From perfumed and crisp to richly textured, each glass is designed to delight the nose and surprise the palate.

 A tour of Italy: the Island wines 

thursday 9thjuly: 19:00-21:00

Time to move off the mainland and check out the wines of Sardinia and Sicily. Sardinia is well known for the the beautiful reds made from Garnacha, known locally as Cannonau and the fresh lightly fragrant whites from Vermntino. Sicily, one of the biggest production regions of Italy, has a wide range of gorgeous whites and reds. We will highlight the wines made from Cattaratto, Nero d’Avola and Nero Mascalese. A feast for the palate.

A tour of Italy: the deep South

Our final tasting on the tour looks at the beautiful wines of Campania and Puglia. Both regions are home to many indigenous grape varieties that have, in the past, made some good drinking wines. Today, winemakers and growers have elevated the quality of their offerings and now they stand as some of the best in the country. The warmth of the regions is mirrored in the depth and richness of both the white and red wines and this promises to be a great evening.

The Pinot Family

Meet the Pinots, a tasting of the many different types and styles of wines produced from, arguably the world’s best grape variety, Pinot Noir and its mutations. Sounds a little unpleasant until you realise that the ‘mutations’ include Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, as well as Pinot Meunier. The wines will come from England, France, Germany and further afield but all will carry the Pinot DNA.
